Welcome to the website of East Portlemouth Parish
Here you will find three main sections covering the Parish Council, the Church and the Village Hall. Our aim is to inform you and encourage you to take part in the life of our community. We have a large number of part-time residents and visitors joining us at different times throughout the year and we hope this site will help those families keep up-to-date with news and events in the parish.
We hope you find what you’re looking for here but if you don’t then please let us know.
If you are interested in the history and heritage of our parish, there is a brief document from the South Devon AONB unit here: East Portlemouth Info Sheet
URGENT: Yet again, there is very little parking in East Portlemouth this year.
We strongly recommend that visitors to our golden sandy beaches drive to Salcombe to park and then come over to us by ferry.
The National Trust car park at Mill Bay still has fewer spaces than in previous years. It remains accessible only via a one mile long, narrow, no-through lane with very few passing places. It is usually full by 10.30am during the school holidays. Drivers have continued to experience long delays when approaching or leaving the area. Please do not park in the turning space at Mill Bay as this is reserved for emergency vehicles.
The nearby grass car park at Port Waterhouse continues to have only limited parking available this year. Similarly, the field for Gara Rock has been filling very quickly too.
Please do not park in the passing places, or farmer’s field gates, as that blocks all the traffic and causes major disruption..
