Warning from Salcombe Yacht Club

ATTENTION:
We regret to inform you that there has been an increase in anti-social behaviour in Salcombe this summer, particularly during the evenings, in and around the Yacht Club and Cliff House Gardens.

Recent incidents reported to the Police include:

  • young people climbing onto the Watch House roof and jumping into the Harbour;
  • theft of outboards and SUPs from the Watch House;
  • alcohol being stolen from the SYC Outside Bar;
  • vandalism to the SYC Outside Bar;
  • large anti-social gatherings in Cliff House Gardens, including underage drinking, smoking and vaping;
  • vandalism to the Outside Shower at the Watchhouse.

All of these incidents have been reported to the Police. However, the Club has been advised that continued reporting is essential to help the Police and Local Council build a clear picture of the problem and take appropriate action.

Please help us keep the Club, Cliff House and our wider community safe.
