The Tree Protection Orders section has the information in an INTERACTIVE MAPPING, and the guide to find information about trees with Tree Protection Orders and Conservation Areas in every parish, it also has a reporting tool:

  • Go to – “What can I do if I believe works are taking place without permission?”
  • Click on Report Unauthorised work
  • If you are not reporting trees in the Dartmoor National Park, then pass the first page and go to the second to report the details.
  • Get to “A tree has been felled or damaged or a hedgerow has been removed”.
  • Then follow instructions below:
    • Date when damage occurred
    • Do you who is responsible etc…

“How can I find out if permission for the work has been granted?”

Your local Tree Warden should know this answer, as they would have been asked to comment on any works requested to trees with Tree Preservation Orders. They would also be notified if permission had been granted or not on the tree. However, you can also use the on-line planning search tool.
